This year will be my second year participating in Velosano. I participated in Velosano and Pelotonia and had a very moving experience.
I became too familiar with what cancer does to a family, when my father Joel was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in May of 2014. Shortly before by father was diagnosed, my father had recently retired as an architect. Anyone who met him knew that he was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. His primary reason for retiring after working for over 40 years was to spend more time with my oldest daughter Hannah as a babysitter two days per week and full time Papa.
The treatment at the Cleveland Clinic was fantastic. Our doctors, nurses, support staff, and everyone our family interacted with was so caring. Even with all of the love and support my dad passed away in August of 2015, a few days before I was supposed to ride in Pelotonia 2015.
About 15 months after my dad passed away, our youngest daughter was born. We named her Noa, in honor of my dad.
With the efforts of my family, friends, and clients I hope to reach an initial minimum goal of $1,000, but I don't want to stop the fund raising there...
Sadly, if you are reading this, you or someone you know has been touched by cancer. Think of this as a donation not only to me, or Velosano, but directly to cancer research.
