Since starting my job here at Cleveland Clinic. I've learned so much more about cancer, its treatments, and the research being done to better understand the disease. I've learned that the National Institute of Health (the main government grant making authority for medical research) is only awarding grants to about 5% of the tens of thousands of grant requests they receive annually. And the small portion of grants they DO award are usually only partially funded.
We've all been touched by cancer, and I believe we can all do a part in defeating it. This year, I dedicate my fundraising efforts to my hero: my late grandfather, Alexander Mellon. He battled and defeated colon cancer seven years ago, at the spry age of 94. He conceded his battle to esophageal cancer this year at 101.
Please consider joining me in the great fight against cancer. EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR HELPS. Thank you!!
How far will you go for the cure?
