My VeloSano Experience:
I knew last year standing at VeloSano with dad at the Kickoff party the night before the race, that it would most likely be the last VeloSano we were at together. We danced as the band played and tears came to my eyes, but I did not want him to see me cry. He never gave up and was a FIGHTER. Whether it was growing up in a family of six children on a dairy farm in Prattsburgh, to working hard every day to provide for his family or to battle his long and tiring FIGHT with cancer that ended his life in November of 2016. He never lost hope and I wanted to be strong for him...so we danced, I wiped my tears and I got on the bike the next morning to continue the FIGHT.
Being part of VeloSano was the most exciting and humbling experience. I was inspired knowing I was riding for Dad and for everyone FIGHTING the disease...and riding for the future of finding a cure for cancer.
The Cleveland Clinic is an unbelievable facility. Through funding and research, new drugs are on the horizon for all types of cancer. That is why this bike race, VeloSano is more than a bike race. 100% of proceeds raised goes toward cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic…and their research and treatments benefit all cancer patients at every hospital. Dad was treated there throughout his 8 year battle and we are forever grateful to the Dr's and staff at the Clinic.
Charlie and I are riding in the 12 mile ride. We know that Dad will be cheering us on!
Thank you for your donation and for helping us to continue the FIGHT against this disease. Let's "Make it Rain" to Make it Stop. Every dollar helps!
