Books and Bucks to benefit Congenital Heart Families and Research
Dear Family, Friends, & Co-workers,
Thank you all so much for coming to visit my page to help raise funds for research of congenital heart defects and get some books to fellow heart families while they are in the hospital.
When Braxton was diagnosed at birth with a congenital heart defect our world was turned upside down and we became part of the heart family. Braxton was diagnosed with TGA and had his open heart surgery at 6 days old. The support shown by other heart families was wonderful, Facebook groups, messages, visits, all of it helped as much as it could even if it was a slight distraction the support mattered to me.
Braxton is doing wonderful, and I do nothing but pray he continues to do so. As rough of a time as it was as stated before the support helped and my favorite was getting gifts for Braxton to help decorate his room, after all I was celebrating his birth as well!
An idea was shared in a book group and that got me thinking how during our time up there I kept wishing I had a book to read to him something to pass those moments where I thought I couldn't keep my eyes open another second but didn't want to put him down. I know my family had it on the list to bring me books but with everything going on they never made it up to us...now being home I want to do what I can to help other families going through something nobody wants to be going through but have no other choice. I want to brighten a moment even if it is for a second.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to visit this page and for consideration in donating
