In Memory of Yu-Fang Chiu Vaughan
Yu-Fang was diagnosed with Stage IV renal cell carcinoma in 2011. We were all shocked and her prognosis was not a promising one. Yu-Fang feared that she would not live to see her youngest daughter, Olivia, graduate from high school…but she did.
With the help of Brian Rini, M.D. and his associate Laura Wood, RN, Yu-Fang was given more time than anyone expected. And she lived every second to the fullest. Over the past 5 years Yu-Fang was able to
-Attend Olivia’s graduation from high school
-Climb the ‘Shoe for Evelyn’s graduation from Ohio State
-Visit her family in Taiwan multiple times
-Admire the Birth of Venus in Florence, Italy
-Visit castles in Germany
-Cruise through the Caribbean
-Climb the Grand Canyon
-Bike in Alaska
-And celebrate her 25th Wedding Anniversary to George
During her last days, Yu-Fang continued to comfort people by telling them she had “no regrets.” If it weren’t for Dr. Rini and his world-class research in renal cell carcinoma treatment, Yu-Fang would not have been able to enjoy these last 5 years as much as she did.
We ask that anyone who would like to make a gift in honor of Yu-Fang donate to this page. Any funds donated will go directly to Dr. Rini’s research so that others can be given more time to live their lives as fully as Yu-Fang did.
