Dear Friends, Family and Co-Workers,
We are organizing a weekend camp for children with spina bifida and their families. After working with this population, it has been noted that a support system for these families is lacking in in our area. To our knowledge, there is nothing similar to our camp proposal being offered to this patient population in northeast Ohio.
Camp Milo will be held at Recreation Unlimited Farm & Fun, Inc., 7700 Piper Road, Ashley, Ohio 43003. This camping experience would be held over a weekend- date to be determined based on our ability to raise funds! Children and their families will be able to experience activities such as fishing, canoeing, archery and even tree climbing. All activities are adaptive to children with special needs.
Camp Milo will be open to children with spina bifida age 5 years and older and their families. We will send a flyer and registration form to patients between the ages of 5 to 11 years of age who currently attend Spina Bifida Clinic at Cleveland Clinic. Since this is our first year, we have decided to focus on patients at Cleveland Clinic, but hope to expand to any patient with spina bifida in the future.
We are reaching out to you for a donation to help fund this unique experience! Money raised will be used to pay for camp facilities and residence hall, camp activities (including staff and equipment), meals, T-shirts, snacks and welcome bags for 50 campers. I have included a breakdown of activities and their costs.
You will be recognized for your donation at the welcome reception.
Thank you for your time and consideration… and your generous donation!
Thanks again for your support.
